WGF10

WGF10 will be the fifth Winchester Guitar Festival. This year’s festival course will be hosted at Holy Trinity Church Hall on Upper Brook Street, and the evening concerts at the exquisite Milner Hall on St Peters Street, both venues in the heart of Winchester.

Winchester Guitar Festival 2010 will feature many of the core elements of past festivals including …

  • Evening concerts
  • Guitar orchestra
  • Masterclasses
  • Technical workshops
  • Morning warm-up

Places are limited for the solo masterclasses with our special WGF guest artists, so please indicate on your application form if you would like to apply for a place.

WGF welcomes players of any ability from 12 years old and upwards. You do not need to have any ensemble playing experience to attend, but to get the most out of the festival we recommend that every participant has been learning the guitar for at least one year.

With the credit crunch still very much in evidence, this year WGF is ‘back to basics’ giving you the most popular elements of WGF at an extremely competitive price. WGF10 will NOT be a residential course, but there are many excellent hotels and B&Bs in the city within striking distance of the festival venues. For up-to-the-minute details on B&B and hotel availability in the area please visit the Winchester Tourist Information website.

The festival fee includes all tuition and entry to all concerts as well as a delicious buffet lunch on Saturday and Sunday with a vegetarian option. Teas, coffees and soft drinks are also included during the day. Evening meals are NOT provided but we will be recommending local restaurants before the evening concerts.
