Late night lute – Matthew Wadsworth

It’s is our pleasure to welcome lutenist Matthew Wadsworth to WGF13 and add him to a new later time for one of this years festival concerts which is at 9pm in St Lawrence Church on Saturday the 15 June. We have know Matthew from way back when we were at the Royal Academy of Music together in the early 90s and he has since become one of the UK’s leading lute players performing on both 8 course lutes from the sixteenth century and also the theorbo which is a giant lute used for solo pieces, and accompaniment for singer as well as in ensembles. Have a listen to Matthew explaining his work as a lutenist here. Box office: 01962 873603
