WGF08 is proud to present its concert series in association with Winchester Discovery Centre and the Southampton Classical Guitar Society

The Friday lunchtime and evening concerts on the Friday and Saturday will be at the new Winchester Discovery Centre's Performance Hall, which opened in January 2008. This exciting venue is a centre for learning with opportunities for concert goers to find out what else is happening in Winchester.

Matthew Robinson's recital and the Student concert will take place at the West Downs Centre.

Winy Kellner

Born 1974 in Geelong, Australia, and raised in Guadalajara, Mexico, Winy studied Mexico and Germany. Since then he enjoys a substantial career as a concert soloist and appears in Canada, USA, Germany and Mexico.

Johannes Möller

Saturday 26 July - 7.30pm Winchester Discovery Centre

The Swedish guitarist Johannes Möller has captivated audiences throughout the world with charismatic performances and ability to communicate a musical message. He is known for his innovative programming, which he can design to please listeners from any cultural background, age or level of musical experience.

 

WGF Student Concert & NYGE (UK)

Sunday 27 July - 3pm FREE EVENT West Downs Centre

A chance to hear what the students have been working on over the course, and also the National Youth Guitar Ensemble will be performing with director Gerald Gacia. This concert will also mark the release of their CD which was recorded at the World Youth Guitar Festival 2007.
